Heritage Matters: Fostering Cultural Awareness and Professional Development

The Project

SkillFoster promotes common values by encouraging participants to learn about cultural heritage and artefacts from different parts of Europe. Through this process, they will gain a deeper understanding of shared European values and appreciate diversity. This will help promote mutual understanding and respect among different communities, which is essential for building a more cohesive and inclusive society. By working on artefact profiles and creating digital resources, students will develop skills such as research, critical thinking, and communication, which are essential for active citizenship.

Additionally, by sharing their work with others, participants will contribute to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage and inspire others to get involved in similar projects. SkillFoster will help strengthen the employability of young professionals in the field of cultural heritage by providing them with valuable skills and experience by developing research, digital, and communication skills that are highly needed in the galleries, libraries, museums and archives (GLAM) and cultural and creative industries (CCI) sector. Additionally, by working on a project related to cultural heritage, participants will gain knowledge and experience that can be relevant to careers in fields such as heritage management, tourism, education, and cultural diplomacy.
